The Dakar rally

The Dakar rally is an off-road endurance event that takes place annually in South America. Crossing the Atacama Desert, Pampas Steppe and Andes, and covering distances of up to 900km per day, the HAVAL Dakar team overcame the acid tests of wind and sand, mud, road blocks and temperature changes to, finish in 6th place in both 2013 and 2014 among big names like BMW and Toyota. Most of the competitive special sections are off-road, crossing dunes, mud, camel grass, rocks and erg among others. The distances of each stage covered vary from short distances up to 800–900 kilometres (500–560 miles) per day.

JUNE

MAY

HAVAL’s driverless car won several major awards at the World Intelligent Driving Challenge 2018.

As an independent automaker, Great Wall Motors ranked 1st in "China’s Valuable Listed Company Brands 2018".

APRIL

HAVAL F-series unveiled at Auto China, and HAVAL F5 won the "Best (Independent) New Auto Award".

The all-new HAVAL H6 received a 5-star rating in the C-NCAP results in 2018 Q1.

MARCH

Construction of GWM manufacturing base in Yongchuan, Chongqing broke ground in the Phoenix Lake Industrial Park, High-Tech Zone, Yongchuan District.

All-new compact SUV HAVAL H4 was officially launched.

Great Wall Motors became the first Chinese auto manufacturer to join the Hydrogen Council.

FEBRUARY

Brand Finance, an international brand value assessment authority, included HAVAL in the “Brand Finance Global 500 2018” list of the world’s 500 most valuable brands as the world’s most valuable SUV brand.
